THE GIFTS FOR THE TRUE REMNANT

Rabbi Yeshua had addressed this letter to the angel of the Church in Philadelphia just like the rest of the other letters. The word ‘angel’ is translated from the Greek word ‘aggelos’ and this Greek word can refer to an angel in heaven or to a human messenger. For this reason many have agree that the term angel can refer to the leader of the Church that had done the work of God during each successive Church eras. In this exhaustive interpretation of the prophetic seven letters of Yeshua, the angel in the letter to the Philadelphians could be referring to the writer of this article.

Presumably, there is an angel assigned to each of the seven Churches. If Rabbi Yeshua is speaking in his letters to the angels of various prophesied churches, then we can consider the seven letters as merely a carbon copy. The seven angels are given the task to find a man with the Holy Spirit who can make all of us understand the prophetic contents of the seven letters.

In the opening of the letter of Rabbi Yeshua to the Church in Philadelphia, He distinctly reminded some of His attributes and characteristics that will become the possessions later on of the true remnant of the Church in Philadelphia for they will follow in His footsteps. That is always the case in all the seven letters of Yeshua to the seven churches, who are actually the seven remnants of the seven churches that did the work of God during the seven church eras. Rabbi Yeshua gives gift and power to His faithful followers and disciples.

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth” (Revelation 3:7, KJV).

The characteristics or appellations of Adon Yeshua (Lord Jesus) that are written and emphasized clearly in this opening verse of the message of Yeshua reveals to us who is the true remnant of the apostatizing Church in Philadelphia. The descriptive characteristic of Yeshua in this verse prophetically shows who among the splintered-churches of God that came out from the erring Worldwide Church of God is the true Church in Philadelphia after the seven church eras ended.

Let’s get to know the distinguishing and redeeming attributes of the true Church in Philadelphia through the appellatives that Rabbi Yeshua used on himself in his letter to them.

  • He is holy
  • He is true
  • He has the Key of David
  • He opens and no man can shut what he opens
  • He shuts and no man can open what he shuts

Those are the five distinct characteristics of Yeshua that are bestowed as gifts of God upon the New Jerusalem remnant. The prophesied Church in Philadelphia after the end of the seven church eras possesses those unmistakable redeeming qualities. One of the special and distinct attributes of Rabbi Yeshua and the Church in Philadelphia is holiness. Yeshua is holy and so is the true remnant of the Church in Philadelphia era. We are not describing the apostatizing Worldwide Church of God at this time but the true Church in Philadelphia that came and evolved out of that Church that Herbert W. Armstrong had founded. Being holy is one of the spiritual attributes of the true Philadelphians that are members of this particular congregation.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:1-2, KJV).

It is the duty of every members of the Church to present their body as a living sacrifice that is holy and pure and acceptable to God. The members of the New Jerusalem are the saints or kaddoshim of the Most High God because they are holy and what could be the obvious explanation and rationale for that? The people of Israel are called holy unto God because they accepted and kept the divine Law of God that were given at Mt. Horeb. In exactly the same way the members of the New Jerusalem, the true remnant of Philadelphia, are holy for keeping that same Law that God gave to Moses for all the people of Israel.

There is a time for war and there is a time that we have to bear patiently all the things that our neighbors and the people who are persecuting us are giving us by dealing with them wisely for the sake of holiness, of our being holy. We are supposed to imitate the holiness of God by being holy like Him.

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be sober and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah--as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance, but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; because it is written, "You shall be holy; for I am holy." If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man's work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear: knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers, but with precious blood, as of a faultless and pure lamb, the blood of Messiah” (1 Peter 1: 13-19, HNV).

We have to be holy because God is holy, that is what’s written in our Holy Bible. Rabbi Yeshua is holy, which we have to be whether we want to or not because if we are truly Philadelphians that is what we will become. And we are holy, which is the reason why we accept and keep the Torah of Moses.

So what is this word ‘holy’ that Yeshua is talking about in his message to the church in Philadelphia?

The word ‘holy’ is translated from the Greek word ‘hagios’, which means ‘sacred’, conveying a consecrated thing or a consecrated person like the priests that minister in the temple of God. Rabbi Yeshua is holy for he is our high priest that sits at the right hand of God in heaven. He is a divine being, a God that has incarnated into flesh, for it is written, “No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven” (John 3:13, HNV). By bringing up his holiness in the letter to the Philadelphians, Yeshua is strongly implying and suggesting that the members of the true remnant of the Church in Philadelphia are holy as well. Thus in comparison to the other churches, the true Church in Philadelphia is the only holy among the remnants of the seven churches.

According to JFB Commentary, Rabbi Yeshua as God is absolutely holy, separate from evil and perfectly hating it. That is what the members of The New Jerusalem and those who will join them later on will become before the eyes of God and before the eyes of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach for they are the true remnant of the Church in Philadelphia era. Though that is something very hard to imagine, the truth concerning the spiritual existence of a remnant-church in Philadelphia is so hard to deny and repudiate.

Prophetically speaking, the book of Revelation is telling us that one of the seven churches has no need to repent for Yeshua is recognizing already their holiness and perfection. Among the many churches of God that have gone out of the Worldwide Church of God and claiming that they are the true remnant of the Philadelphia Church, one of them is holy and true while the rest are simply pretending to be. Even if most of the break-away churches of God are claiming that they have all the truth and seem to be saying the same thing, one of them is really declaring the truth while the rest are just spiritually blind and naked, carbon copying the work of Herbert W. Armstrong in the Worldwide Church of God in order to receive.

Sometimes we have to face the truth of who we really are before the eyes of God. The Laodiceans believe they have all the knowledge of God when the true knowledge of the Law of Moses they do not even understand or consider at all.

The Church of God that is keeping the 614-plus Commandments of God written in the Torah of Moses and doing the ‘daily’ prayer services on Sabbath Days and Holy Days has no need of repentance. They have done what God expects His chosen people should be doing and that is the reason why God has appointed them as His priests and kings through Rabbi Yeshua HaMashiach.

How did it come to be?
