THE PROPHESIED ‘FATHERS’

The prophesied Jewish Fathers

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the land with utter destruction” (Malachi 4:6).

The prophetic ‘fathers’, as we can see from the verse above do not love the children for reason that is not stated. We can also see that the children of these prophetic ‘fathers’ are not showing their love and affection to their ‘fathers.’ Jewish traditions show us that there are many ways we can interpret biblical prophecy besides its dual fulfillment.

There are many religious people that look at the last verse in the book of Malachi in a very literal manner. They apply it to Elijah the prophet that is believe in many religious circle will appear again on earth to usher the appearance of the Promised Messiah of God to the people of Israel. The members and the ministers of the Worldwide Church of God that steadfastly follow the doctrines taught by Worldwide Church of God under the leadership of Herbert W. Armstrong claimed its founder is the end of time fulfillment of Elijah the prophet.

But that is being refuted by some people that claimed Mr. Armstrong did not fulfill the last prophetic verse in the book of Malachi. They said his children became estranged to him at the time of his death in January 16, 1986. Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong had no loved for Garner Ted Armstrong and Garner Ted was rebellious to his father, even to the point of maligning and destroying utterly the image of his father by spreading a rumor of incestuous affair between his father and his sister named Dorothy.

But what if the fathers and the children in the last verse of the book of Malachi have a very different meaning and interpretation?

Yeshua warns His faithful disciples in the gospel book of Matthew not to carry the title of ‘father’ or ‘fathers.’ In the Roman Catholic Church the Catholic bishops and priests are being regarded and called as fathers. Earlier in the history of Rabbinical Judaism, the Jewish spiritual leaders known today as rabbis were also referred to as ‘fathers.’

Can we consider that what Rabbi Yeshua had said in Matthew 23 has underlying relevance to the prophecy in Malachi 4:6?

But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brethren. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven” (Matthew 23:8-9, RSV).

Simply put, Yeshua prophetically warned us in these verses not to consider our faith and religion as part of Rabbinical Judaism.

During the time of Rabbi Yeshua, the teachers of the Law like the Pharisees and the scribes were being called ‘rabbis’ and ‘fathers’ at the same time. Christianity had just adopted the title of ‘father’ or ‘papa’ from Judaism and some other pagan religions, and that is the reason why the Roman Catholic priests are being called ‘fathers’ today. The fact is, spiritually speaking, we can regard as our fathers too the leaders of our religion that are guiding us to the true knowledge of God and helping us to become perfect and holy. But we should not called them ‘fathers’ directly for we already have two fathers in heaven according to our Holy Bible.

In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes. And there was a young man out of Bethlehem-judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there. And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehem-judah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed. And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Bethlehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place. And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in” (Judges 17:6-10, KJV).

The Levitical priest is also being regarded as father in the days of the Judges of Israel. The Levites were the appointed priests of our God and that is the reason why they were being called as ‘father’ beside their legal title of priests or kohanim. The Levitical priests are the fathers and the children of Israel from the other tribes are the children, which is what Malachi 4:6 is prophesying about. If these two groups will not mend their ways and love one another God will smite the earth with a curse. And God is doing that already on earth for at this time (September, 2020) we are already in the Great Tribulation.

The Jewish rabbis, even though they are the spiritual guide of the Jewish people today in the modern religion of Judaism are not really the fathers or the priests appointed by God for the prophetic ‘children’ of Israel. Under the Torah they have no right in usurping the authority and position of the priests of the Most High God, which by the way have been given and transferred to the true disciples of Rabbi Yeshua. The members of The New Jerusalem congregation are now the divinely appointed priests of the Most High God if they are truly righteous in the eyes of God.

There is a war that occurred between the temple priests and the Pharisees during the time of Yeshua. When the temple of God in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans the Kohanim and the Levites disappeared. On account of that the Pharisees and the scribes of the Law had won as the spiritual guides of Israel by default in that war. The true disciples of Rabbi Yeshua are supposed to be the replacement of the priests or Kohanim but many of them are being held captive in the religion of Christianity and could not do the commission that Rabbi Yeshua has given His disciples to do.

In Revelation 3:9, Yeshua said He will show to a group of people that He loves the members of true prophesied Church in Philadelphia. We could not really discern and interpret clearly how Yeshua will show His love to the members of The New Jerusalem congregation. But the Holy Bible does not hide from us how the true disciples of Yeshua can show their love to their Lord and Master, even to our Most High God.

How do you think God and Yeshua HaMashiach will show the world in general that they love the true Philadelphians?

Take a note what Yeshua had spoken to His true disciples.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.

If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you” (John 15:4-16, ESV).

The members of the prophesied remnant Church in Philadelphia are keeping all the commandments of God and the testimony of Rabbi Yeshua. They are fully aware that the true disciples of Yeshua HaMashiach are supposed to be Jewish, spiritually and physically. Any one on earth who starts keeping all the things written in the Law of Moses will soon realize that he or she will be living like the Jewish people. That is something that the Christian people on earth find distasteful and truly revolting.

If we abide with Yeshua we will bear much fruit. Whatever we ask of God we will get because Rabbi Yeshua loves all of us. What the Philadelphians do not have right now they will receive soon if they are the true Philadelphians for Rabbi Yeshua is going to show to all of the brethren that He indeed loves the remnant of the Church in Philadelphia.

That is one of the ways that true Philadelphians will know and realize that they are the true Philadelphians when it starts to happen that whatever they ask of God, God shall give it to them. In much the same way even if God or Adonai will give us anything we ask in the name of Rabbi Yeshua, we will not really know the true depth of the love of God for us when we do not really believe and ask.

God has given the true Philadelphians that power, or that blessing, but if they do not believe that they have the power and they do not use the power, there won’t be any opportunity for God and Yeshua HaMashiach to manifest their love.

The God of Israel

"Before Yeshua HaMashiach incarnated into flesh, He first played the role of the God of Israel in the Old Testament. We learned of the existence of God the Father in the New Testament writings when Yeshua revealed that He has a father in heaven while he was on earth during His ministry.
